In reply to your letter of the 30th January

last (4077) relative to the proposed erection of a building

to accommodate cadets in the Yamen at Canton, I am

directed by the Lords Commissioners of His Majesty's

Treasury to transmit herewith for the information of

Mr. Secretary Churchill copies of a Report dated the

17th ultimo with relative enclosure which They have

received from the Office of Works on the matter and of the

Treasury reply of even date.
